On March 15-17, 2016, St Petersburg will host the St Petersburg Technology Fair (PTF), the forum for leading Russian and foreign businesses for past 10 years.
Traditionally, the PTF comprises specialised international exhibitions in metallurgy, metal working, machinery, machine tool manufacture, conductor and compressor equipment and industrial innovations. In 2016, the PTF will feature an exhibition on mounting, gathering together manufacturers and producers of fastenings, metalware, and tool making materials.

In 2016, the expo will again become a part of the busy schedule of the St Petersburg Industrial Congress, an event that aims to initiate a discussion about the issues of the economic sector between the Government and the business and to achieve practical and efficient solutions. Congress' programme is constantly extended and at the moment not only includes topics of the PTF expo, but also a conference on the development of car parts production network PIAC (St Petersburg International Automotive Conference) as well as several round tables on mechatronics and robotics.
During the congress and with the support from Russian Association of Venture Investment (RAVI), a Smart Place Industrial forum will be founded to help establish dialogue between small and medium businesses and large corporations. The event was first held during the St. Petersburg Industrial Week, that took place this autumn, and participants regarded it as topical and essential. The list of speakers included heads of OAO OMZ, GK Rosatom, Skolkovo RusInnovations, GS Group and other companies that lead today's Russian economy.
Each PTF participant will not only be able to present its innovations, but also compete for the Grand Prix as the Best Innovative Project and Best Scientific and Technological Product of the Year, an award established in 1998 by the Ministry of Science and Technology of Russia (Now: the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation). Since then, over 3,500 projects were awarded, many of which later became acclaimed worldwide. The expert evaluation of the projects is performed by SRI FRCEC, one of the leading scientific and technological institutions in Russia.
On the same venue there will be hosted the Automechanika St Petersburg expo for spare parts, components and maintenance equipment for cars produced in North-Western Russia and the Baltics.
Both participants and visitors of the event will be connected via Matchmaking, an on-line system to assist in organising meetings, finding partners, and networking. The attendees can register in the free system in advance, find right people and plan their attendance.
