According to Petrostat information, the car factories Hyundai, Nissan and Toyota have produced 284,700 vehicles in St. Petersburg for 10 months 2017. This is 23.9% more than the figures for the same period last year.
Over the past month the growth rates have slowed. So, 32 500 machines came off the assembly line, which is 19% more than in the same period of the past year. For comparison: for three quarters of 2017 the automotive industry grew by 25%.
The slowdown is explained by the high level of output at the end of last year. Earlier experts predicted that following the results of the fourth quarter the automobile plants of the Northern capital will produce more than 90 thousand cars. This will allow to exceed not only the figures of 2016, but also 2015, when the General Motors plant was still in operation, mothballed later by American owners.
Three enterprises produce nine models of cars - Nissan Qashqai, Nissan X-Trail, Nissan Murano, Nissan Pathfinder, Toyota Camry, Toyota RAV4, Hyundai Solaris, Hyundai Creta and Kia Rio.
